Although this site is primarily dedicated to reviewing the different types of PS3 consoles, I do get a lot of request from readers who like to know more about the top rated PS3 games as well. Especially during the Christmas season, PS3 games are an obvious choice for shoppers as they can get some nice discounts on PS3 consoles and games.
Although I was planning to make this post more detailed and cover the different genres of PS3 games but I think I’ll do that sometime later this week. Right now this is a quick post looking specifically at the top rated PS3 games (as this is what many of those asking questions are focusing upon).

This game has been on the bestselling list since the past 200 days and is a great first person shooter game that features an ultra realistic near-future conflict of mostly American forces with those of the Russian Federation around the globe.

This brilliant and realistic action adventure game from Sony sees continuation of the adventures of the swashbuckling treasure hunter Nathan Drake, as he finds himself in a new variety of challenging environments.
Key game features include and interactive cinema like experience along with a visit to some of the most stunning locations in the world. For me the highlight of the game is single player campaign mode with a captivating storyline. Truly one of the best PS3 games I’ve ever played.

Another game that has caught the attention of PS3 lovers from across the globe is Batman: Arkham City, a third person action adventure game from Warner Bros. If you loved the movie, Dark Knight, then this game is a must have for you.
This game sees the return of all the major characters from the earlier versions and another interesting feature of this game is that one can even play as Catwoman having her own storyline.
Available in both the standard and collector’s edition, this is among the top rated ps3 games and is currently going for under $50 at Amazon.

I always am partial towards RPG games but I rarely come across an amazing one that lives up to my expectations. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an exception because this game truly blew me away.
The earlier versions of this game, both won the Games of the Year Award and this next chapter in the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls saga looks to continue that dominating form. Please note that this game has been given a Maturity rating so I would not advise this for teens.
